When Go-Live Also Means Personal Development & Growth

How Selim went above and beyond during his first WebApp launch with us.

A Go-Live is often the final high for developers — or the moment when everything goes wrong at once. For our colleague Selim, his first Go-Live with us was exactly that: an intense and instructive experience.

Together with the team, he helped oversee the launch of the new web platform of Face2Face Dating supervised. It's a solution where users can playfully meet people in their city. But as playful as the app may appear to users, the launch was a real trial. For the technology. And for the people behind it.

What Selim took away from the Go-Live

1. Clear division of labor prevents overload

“I underestimated how much runs in parallel when things get serious,” Selim says in retrospect. Clients are communicating, bugs must be prioritized, new requirements have to be implemented at short notice - and the clock is ticking.

The key insight:

No one should have to carry everything alone. Clear responsibilities and good communication within the team are the key to staying operational even during stressful periods.

2. Calmness can be trained

Go-live doesn't just demand undivided attention; it also brings sensory overload. For Selim it was clear: if you want to make good decisions, you need a clear head.

His personal approach:

✅ deliberate breaks

✅ enough sleep – despite the pressure

✅ breathing techniques and intentional focus periods

These seemingly small decisions made the difference when it really mattered.

3. Better to test too much than too little.

After the go-live comes the next testing. Even though much went well, a few minor bugs would have been avoidable with more pre-release tests.

Lesson learned:

Investing more time and depth into testing isn't a luxury; it's an investment in quality.

And: a good testing strategy saves far more time in a critical situation than it costs.

What excited us as a team

Not that Selim had to do everything perfectly, but how he handled challenges: with responsibility, reflection, and a willingness to learn.

And that's exactly what shapes our vision:

Empowering people to take responsibility and grow beyond themselves.

We don't develop products for machines. We develop them for people. And we believe good solutions emerge when character, clarity, and communication work together.

Go-lives like this show us again and again: good solutions require not only clean code, but also clarity, communication, and character.

And that's precisely why we invest not only in products, but in people.

Thanks, Selim.
