Attracting skilled workers is a central issue in times of skilled labor shortages – especially for digital companies. An interesting impulse on this: In the current IHK podcast episode „Happy work in Berlin“ our CEO Ben and software engineer Selim speak live about the recruitment process. Particularly striking: how the accelerated skilled workers procedure made everything significantly faster – without losing the personal touch.

Why we were part of the podcast

As leasyro GmbH, we appeared on stage with the IHK and our matchmaking expert to share our authentic journey: how we came together with an international software professional without months of bureaucracy, but with a lot of trust and structure.

The difference: Accelerated skilled workers procedure

Selim comes as a highly qualified software developer from Turkey. Thanks to the accelerated skilled workers procedure, he was able to receive his visa within a few weeks – instead of the usual months. In the IHK episode, Judith Bolsinger talks about how this procedure specifically makes start processes significantly easier.

Starting faster together – without losing the human touch

Too often international recruitment is described as an impersonal process. For us it was different:

  1. Structured: Through working with authorities and clear procedures

  2. Personal: Through genuine exchange and support for starting in Berlin

  3. Successful: Because after only a few weeks Selim was able to work – fully integrated into the team

What we can all learn from this

  • Planning and support are crucial: International talents should not be left alone, but accompanied through processes, both digital and human.

  • Procedural expertise pays off: Whoever engages with procedures like the accelerated skilled-worker procedure can radically shorten start times

  • Diversity strengthens teams: We gained a strong team member through openness and courage – with great added value

Conclusion & Outlook

Our experience shows: recruiting skilled workers can be fast, personal, and fair. That's exactly what we're excited about in the podcast with the IHK Berlin – and we recommend that all entrepreneurs be open to such approaches.
